WHO WE ARE
The Milal Orchestra is a unique orchestra that encourages groups of different levels, including professional musicians, youth students and people with disability, to perform together.
We help future musicians to grow, including special needs students, deepen their musical capability and experience the blending of our ensemble music with professional musicians. Beyond that, we offer the opportunity to interact with the audience while performing.
WHO CAN JOIN
Anyone and Everyone! We would like someone who enjoys classics and can make music with the disabled.
We have three music program. Our programs are:
Milal Orchestra is a nonprofit orchestra who are willing to help members of the Milal Youth Orchestra and special needs students. Up to 40 participants must hold the minimum of a Bachelor of Music degree or its equivalent. They will perform with other members on Milal Concert.
The Milal Choir is for singers with special needs beyond age 19 who can sing and stand on the stage at least for 10min regardless their ability. The students of Texas Milal College will join this group and sing with Orchestra at Milal Concert. They must attend rehearsals and concert.
Up to two Milal Artist can be selected and performed as a soloist or a member of the chamber group. They need to fully practice their parts until concert date.
Milal Youth Orchestra
The Milal Youth Orchestra is a nonprofit youth orchestra that provides music students in Texas area an opportunity to play with professional musicians. We regularly open ‘Milal Night’, and they can have the opportunity to stand on the same stage as professional musicians. Only selected youth can perform on this stage, or some can be participants.
